One of the guys on the Las Vegas Marathon message board occasionally has an avatar where he is wearing a tuxedo running shirt. I asked him about it, and he said it was actually a cycling jersey. This was a while ago. I did a Google search and found the shirt. But it cost a little more than I wanted to spend at the time. Well, Jeff changed his avatar again, and he was wearing the tuxedo shirt again. I did a search again, and debated about buying it again. I decided not to buy it. But then the next day I changed my mind and bought it. I have the Buffalo marathon coming up in a couple weeks. Geez, that sucker is coming fast! Anyway, I am hoping to get it in time so that I can wear it while running in Buffalo!
One thing I am concerned about is the shirt is black. And if it is sunny out, it may make me hotter. I will have to do some practice runs in it.

I currently have two pairs of running shoes. One is a pair of Reebok Ultra IIIs that I bought probably back in November. The other pair is a pair of Nike trail running shoes. I am not sure if the trail running shoes will hold out till July for the Damn Wakely Damn Ultra that I am going to run. The Reeboks have about had it though. I bought them intending to use the in the Las Vegas Marathon. But I ended up wearing a pair of trail running shoes instead (they are now retired as running shoes, and I wear them as daily wear). But I was wearing the Rebooks for my run this last weekend, and I was starting to feel a little bit of foot pain. So I think they have about had it as running shoes. I am debating about buying another pair of trail running shoes, or whether to buy a pair of regular running shoes. If I bought another pair of trail running shoes, they will likely be broken in by the Wakely Dam run! maybe I will just wait to see whats on sale! :)
Maybe I will give away the Nike trail running shoes I am wearing as daily wear, and use the Reeboks as daily wear… I only need to have so many shoes, and both pairs are still in pretty good shape to use as just shoes.

I was scheduled to run 24 miles yesterday. I want to go on a bike ride with my wife, but was limited by time. I did and aikido class in the morning. Then when I got home, I changed, and we headed down to the canal path. She rode her bike, and I ran. I had her keep her speed at 5mph, and I ran at a 12:00 pace. I would have rather been riding my bike. We did 6 miles. When we got home, I did a few things, but I was tired. I went and laid down for a few, and fell asleep. When I got up, I started running again, this time on the treadmill. My wife made dinner, and I took a break, and ate. I also cooked some stuff myself. Then it was back to the treadmill. I managed to get 11 miles on the treadmill for a total of 17 miles. I was hoping to get in at least 20, but it got to be bed time.
I got up this morning, changed, and got on the treadmill. I ran 7 miles this morning, the fill out the 24 miles I was scheduled to run.
Now I am in taper mode. The Buffalo marathon is in three weeks. It will be nice to get a rest!

After I finished my first marathon, and running friend of mine gave me a goody bag with some gu’s, some trail mix stuff, and a 26.2 sticker. The sticker was really cool. It’s one of those oval stickers you always see on the backs of cars. It simply said 26.2 in black numbers on a white oval background.
I am not one of those people who sticks bumper stickers all over their car. In fact, I hate sticking things on my car. But I really liked the sticker. I thought about buying a magnet version of the 26.2 sticker. But with a magnet, I was concerned that somebody would just take it. But this morning, I broke down, and actually stuck the sticker on the rear bumper of my car. I guess running a full marathon is a big accomplishment, and I did it. So I guess I deserve to have a sticker on my car. Heck, I know people who have gotten 26.2 tattoos! I had a hard enough time putting a sticker on my car, much less having something permanently etched into my skin!
