So far, all of my running has been done on a treadmill in my house with the temperature at a comfortable 70 degrees. I was planning on going running on the road today. I had planned to run the 5.3 miles to my wife’s work timed to arrive shortly before she was scheduled off, and ride home with her. But the temperatures outside dropped markedly to around 63 degrees. Inside I wear shoes, socks, and a pair of Nike Dri-Fit running shorts. I wasn’t sure if these would be warm enough. I drove to the local sporting goods store, and saw some long Dri-Fit pants for $55. But I wasn’t sure if they would be warm enough, or unnecessary. I also looked at Nike Dri-Fit running shirts, both short and long sleeve. I am not even sure how the shirts are supposed to fit. Are they supposed to be tight, or loose or what? There weren’t any sales people available to help me, so I left. I ended up just doing my run on the treadmill. I will go up to the store when I have more time, so that I can ask questions. There is also a walking/running store in town, so I may go there, and ask them questions. I doubt I will do any running outside during the truly cold winter. But during fall, and spring I will maybe do some.
